Concussion
Janny has claimed that all the blows he takes to his head AND all the times he has led to the pitch has ONLY led to 2 or 3 concussions
This is without doubt a failure of the medical staff
Players want to play but players must be protected. Why is Janny allowed to pedal such things?

Re: Concussion
Do professional rugby players have annual "brain scans"? Or would too many players be forced to retire?

Re: Concussion
A waste of time and money at the moment. Concussion does not show any signs on available scans. In addition, it is a temporary condition and the physical abnormalities in brain chemistry are back to normal within a fortnight.boringperson12 wrote:Do professional rugby players have annual "brain scans"? That's not to say that symptoms necessarily settle as quickly, although they do in around 90% of cases.
What is important (and is done) is that players have a full neurological testing carried out in the preseason period and, if deemed necessary, at other times.

Re: Concussion
Janny is not concussed say Leinster
Except he certainly took ANOTHER bang to the head and certainly appeared to be showing the symptoms of concussion on TV

Re: Concussion
Almost as tiresome as Knocknagoney Michael's fevered pursuit of Trevor Brennan now in its 4000 & something day. So old it's older than Ron'n.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Re: Concussion
He smacked his loaf on the ground but the medics are instructed to make it look like a neck injury! If Gilly played for Leinster his steaker/broken cheekbone would be listed as a tennis elbow.

Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

His head was hit twice in the one replay and Barnes claims he hurt his neck.Deraless wrote:He smacked his loaf on the ground but the medics are instructed to make it look like a neck injury! If Gilly played for Leinster his steaker/broken cheekbone would be listed as a tennis elbow.
