Sky Sports
So, Sky are about to announce a revamp to their approach to sports
They will use the success of Sky Sports F1 and take it to other sports
There will be the following channels at a minimum
SS Rugby
SS Football
SS F1
SS Cricket
SS Main Event
You will buy a sport for approx. £20 and each additional sport will cost £2
Big events like a Pro12 Final will appear on both SS Rugby and SS Main Event
Thoughts?

Re: Sky Sports
I'd prefer Sky Sports Snipe - Rugby and Golf with occasional big fights.Russ wrote:So, Sky are about to announce a revamp to their approach to sports

However it'll do. If it means me paying less for no football, F1 or cricket, happy days.

Re: Sky Sports
Rugby and test cricket for me. Never watch footie these days, object to baxing on moral grounds, don't care for golf and wouldn't watch F1 if the track went past my house.

Any chance you could post a link to the announcement?

Re: Sky Sports
Barstewards - no doubt I will be much worse of than at present given the range of channels covers all the sports watched by the various members of my family - may have to rethink and cancel all sports on Sky once I see the detail of what is being proposed
Finished
Re: Sky Sports
Only watch the rugby on it anyway

What's unclear to me is simply what do they do with the smaller sports and in the off season ...Rovi Snave wrote:Barstewards - no doubt I will be much worse of than at present given the range of channels covers all the sports watched by the various members of my family - may have to rethink and cancel all sports on Sky once I see the detail of what is being proposed

My guess would be that they will use these as fillers for a 24 hour rugby channel sounds impractical as indeed does cricket. I will expect to get all when I head to my small hovel. Pablo of Surprise TV is obliging and added RTE2 when I asked though now you see damned little on it. I get all SKY Sport and BT Sport for €20 a mont h albeit it sits idle most of the year.
Hour on that's not quite right, must email Pablo and ask him to add BT3/Europe, missed the Munster SDC semi, the BT ballixes.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Re: Sky Sports
I heard about a revamp a couple of months ago but it was separate channels for F1, cricket, golf, 2 channels for football and rugby was going to be lumped into a separate "all other sports" channel with netball, WWE, darts and all the other sports they cover.

Re: Sky Sports
I have a Sky box in Spain which I have linked to my Sky card which I bring over from the UK. I get all the channels I subscribe to in the UK and pay €22 a month for internet, phone line with free calls to UK landlines and maintenance for my satellite dish. The engineer lives on my urb. which is handy.BaggyTrousers wrote:Russ wrote:What's unclear to me is simply what do they do with the smaller sports and in the off season ...Rovi Snave wrote:Barstewards - no doubt I will be much worse of than at present given the range of channels covers all the sports watched by the various members of my family - may have to rethink and cancel all sports on Sky once I see the detail of what is being proposed
