Centre/Wing/ Full-back: Sam Arnold, Jack Owens, Jacob Stockdale
O/H: Sean O'Hagan
B/R: Frank Taggart, Lorcan Dow, Sean O'Connell
Lock: Alan O'Connor, John Donnan, Alan Simpson, Alex Thompson
Hooker: Conor Carey, Jonny Murphy, John Andrew, Paul Jackson
Prop: Jeremy Loughman, Craig Trenier, Michael Lagan

That's starting to look a reasonable Academy.

Development ?:

Andrew Warwick, Kyle McCall, Conor Joyce, David Shanahan, Stuart McCloskey, Stuart Olding, Rory Scholes

Thunder and Lightning, hailstones, torrential rain here at the moment and since you ask - I expect Connacht squad, Connacht Academy, Leinster squad and academy, Munster squad and academy, Ulster squad about a fortnight into the new season and academy about half way through the season so I thought I'd do something useful. You think I'm exaggerating?! - would you like a small wager?
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

That's a lot of hookers! I've taken those who've played for the first team from last year's academy to development. Any advance, better knowledge?
What happened the Italian-born TH prop we have? Was featured in the URSC a while back.

I don't know - you're meant to be adding info not asking questions.

Sean O'Connell? He wasn't in the academy last season and is back playing in England.
Conor Carey is a prop and left Ulster last year and is playing in England.
Alan Simpson is actually James Simpson.
Jeremy Loughman is a Leinster prop and as far as I know going to UCD next year if he qualifies and will be in the Leinster sub-academy.

Logan said the other day that Ulster would have 55 contracted players, of which 34 are on full-time pro contracts, with the remainder (i.e. 19) academy or development. If this year is like the last few, we'll have quite a long wait until the (diabolical) Ulster website is updated with next year's squad listings - and in the case of the academy, we'll be lucky if it appears at all..

Last year there were 12 members of the Ulster academy (incidentally very low compared with the other province - Leinster 23, Munster 17, Connacht 20):
PR: Warwick, Caulfield, McCall
H: Murphy, Andrew
2R: Simpson, O'Connor, Donnan
BR: Joyce
SH: Shanahan
C: McCloskey
W: Scholes

Of these, Caulfield is gone (AFAIK), and the additions which seem reasonably certain are:
PR: Trenier
BR: Taggart, Dow
OH: O'Hagan

By my reckoning, that would leave 2 spots to be filled to get up to the 55 contracts..

unquestionably - it looks cack, the mobile version is dire, the quality of the stats and match reports is poor, and the squad listings are slapdash and untimely..

Great so Ulster Rugby are signing Leinster props who didn't start for Ireland U-20's whilst letting an Ulster prop who demolished the baby black pack leave Irish shores....makes a whole lot of sense.

In fairness to Trenier, he was first choice going into the JWC, and had been picked to start the first game against France when he picked up his injury..

David Busby and Jack Owens would be in the Academy for next year.

I thought somebody had to play for ulster before getting 'an in fairness to'?

I have nothing against Trenier but the idea of signing up Leinster players at the expense of our own, especially when the local is at the very least a similar level, doesn't sit overly well with me personally.
