This wouldn't have happened if the other two toddlers had guns say the NRA.

The One Show - or Blue Peter for grown up Lionels.

There's a mad scramble for the remote in our house at 7pm. Very similar to 1:30pm when the wireless is tuned to Radio Ulster

Stupid headlines:

Dog owners have lower mortality, study finds

Not going to dispute the benefits of dog ownership, but last time I checked, everyone has the same mortality rate of 100%.

None of us get out of here alive. Only difference is that some shuffle off this mortal coil sooner than others.

Don’t care what you say Grumps, this confirms to my entire satisfaction that I shall live forever  given we have 4 dogs and will far too soon inherit a 5th.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Childer who grow up with dogs are generally healthier and less likely to develop excema and other allergic conditions :thumleft:

Mortality's the same though - 100%

Just the expiry date that gets shoved back a bit ..... in general

Not disputing therefore that life expectancy is probably longer, but we all die some time.

It's the idiot headline writer I was objecting too, who seemed to imply that having a dog could mean some people managed to avoid the grim reaper indefinitely.

With all due respect - that's complete baleex. Even just something as obvious as opposable thumbs makes humans greatly superior in most realms.

At smelling and being loyal - that's about it*.

* There are other things that dogs are better at, but we've largely plugged that gap with technology.

Dogs are amazing. Better than humans ........ at some things.

There are still gaps that technology can't match. Ask David Blunkett

If only we knew someone high up in the RNIB, who we could consult.

There's no one-size-fits-all solution, but there are better aids for Mr Blunkett, they are just not as cost effective as a labrador ... yet.

A human, for example.
