Re: Olympic Torch Protests
well OK then, how about Dr Caroline Lucas MEP for starters.
Suppose you'll claim never to have heard of her!

A useful intro to Tibet is John Cleese's "47 Years in Tibet" - lasts approx 7 minutes on youtube.

Re: Olympic Torch Protests
For the avoidance of any doubt i wish to make it clear that i have never brought platters of food into CIYMS !!
I purchase the occasional good value hotdog/lovely burger from the kitchen on saturdays - always ask for onions.
I think its official teams who sometimes bring in food - dont know if thats home or away teams as i'm not on any teams,
but anytime i've seen it happen the kitchen is shut and Richard (the Bar Steward/manager?) often hands the remaining food around to us ordinary punters if there is any left - so i don't see a problem!!!!
I would never buy crisps @ CIYMS as they are a ridiculous 50p a packet. I didnt get where i am by buying crisps at 50p a packet. Beer quite reasonable price but always more expensive than Weatherspoons.
NOW back to the main issue - 2 further useful links -
Amnesty International ---------------- http://www.amnesty.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and http://www.savetibet.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Olympic Torch Protests
i cant believe that this thread has got this far without a reference to
http://www.tibet-foundation.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
my oversight
ps its now about midnite in Japan so doubt much will happen for an hour or two yet. The folks with
the very dodgy emblem seem 2 b gettin in on the act too - i refer of course to the Falun Gong. Me thinks new flag/symbol/emblem needed if anyone is ever gonna take them seriously.

Re: Olympic Torch Protests
Having taken my loved one for a meal at the excellent Pier 36 in Donaghadirt and afterwards enjoyed a leisurly stroll down to the lighthouse only days ago, this is a bit of lighthouse based trivia i could have done with knowing before now.
