Don't know much about Bryson's work except they used to collect my sundry empies for recycling every Tuesday. Must be a metaphor in there somewhere.

We call the Bryson recycling lorry the litter louts as you usually can gather up a box full of plastic bottles after they have chucked them in the general direction of the van.
