Cruising

Post by scrum5 »

Thinking of taking her indoors on a cruise this year for 7 nights, any information on the best company to travel with and best destinations to go to would be appreciated.

One of those antarctic cruises would be cool. Literally.
Climb up onto the top of your house and start screaming: 'stand up for the Ulstermen, stand.......'

I abominate the very idea of cruising, even if I'm as gay as the next man. Being confined to a ship for a week with the occasional release on land is my idea of purgatory.

However I have met apparently sensible folk who swear by it. Just not my bag man, but fill yer boots and enjoy Scrumptious.

Edit: just realised I'm going on a two hour dinner cruise on Friday night  Somewhat cliched but sure she'll enjoy it as long as the Seine hasn't frozen over.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Only advice is choose your trip according to the stop offs, not the ship or company.

We done one in the Adriatic as it was literally for peanuts. Dubrovnik and Venice were good stops but the rest were just fillers and we were getting off the boat for the sake of hysteria avoidance.

Do one in the Med and you can obviously visit a better selection of cities in a week.

We didnt get into the whole shared table at dinner, making friends with pretentious idiots and Americans as seems to be the done thing on these holidays so maybe we just didnt 'get it'

Am I picking this up wrong, or are you talking about going on a cruise with your mother in law?

Went for a weeks Royal Carribean cruise around the Med a few years ago--thought I would hate it but it was actually really good. Didn't go on the excursions just got off and did our own thing.

Booked it though these guys--lady called Avril is really helpful.

That is supposed to be the cruise that beats all other cruises, I have heard nothing but good things about it from 3 separate couples that have been on it over the years.

After seeing the name of this thread I'm almost as disappointed by its content as when I opened the "Under age scrum half." thread in the main topics area :duck:
