Re: Belfast restaurants
Had a nice wee breakfast in the Lamppost at the Arches, Upper N'ards Rd on Friday. A good fry with very decent coffee in a retro, CS Lewis themed cafe.
Re: Belfast restaurants
For the Parsons Nose later. Hopefully its better than the last time. It had just been reopened and the Sunday lunch was poor.

Thanks , Although Donaghmore is not a regular haunt I would happily travel for a good feed and will keep it in mind if I'm in the area

Some local restaurant news:
Danni Barry is to launch her first solo venture in Aghalee, Co Antrim, after announcing her departure from the Michelin-starred Eipic last week. In November she will reopen Clenaghans restaurant, a once popular restaurant which has been closed for two years.

Anyone been to the Bull and Ram Belfast yet? Joris liked that as well. We're going on the 30th.
Re: Belfast restaurants
Was in Clenaghans for lunch last week. Limited lunch menu (I'm guessing the place isn't overrun with chefs for lunch service). But done to a good standard. Pints would benefit from more being poured. Definitely be back.
Edit: pints were a notably nice temperature too.

Re: Belfast restaurants
The temperature of a pint is key of course. Lancashire do it best for bitter.
Even with I'd err on the slightly warmer side.
Next time we hire a car when we're over we'll try Clenaghans. I don't think Danni got the grub quite right at Eipic from my solitary visit and can see why this place might be more up her street.

Re: Belfast restaurants
So, the Bull and Ram was fairly decent but then it should have been for 30 quid for a steak and a few chips.
The other mains, at around half the price, are good value if the m-in-law's chicken, bacon and cabbage was anything to go by.
Minus points for forgetting my pheasant starter and, unforgivably, replacing my aperitif of a manzanilla with a PX!!
Like CL, and to my eternal credit, I took the hit without a word of complaint and got on with the job.
Visits to the Raj on the Lisburn Road and the Welcome on Stranmillis were solid if unspectacular (entirely in contrast to my bowel movements the following mornings).
A Mourne seafood stew and their fiery Bloody Mary finished off the holidays in fine style.
Think we may try Saphyre in a fortnight although that could curtail the post-match celebrations after we tear La Rochelle a new one.

Anywhere do a good roast
“For the liespotter who knows how to listen well, the random words, sounds, and phrases in a person's speech are never as random as they seem. They offer a clear sightline into the liar's psyche.”
Re: Belfast restaurants
I'd normally go to the Tullyglass or The Tannery.
Knowing a nice one in Belfast would be good. Unlimited starters and dessert's is a must.
Joke hasn't gone unnoticed Kofi.
