Mind you with the group ye have got tis just as well he got the award now. Ours is just as hard I think. Maybe we can have our own private competition - Who can get more points. It won't take long to count them up.

I don't doubt that there may have been some "searching" to find a suitable local unsung hero, but Damien-some-boy-from-Belfast Lindsay is possibly one of the most deserving "unsung heros" for many, many years, which coincidentally is how long he has been an unsung hero.big mervyn wrote:O'Neill wins, special prize for AP McCoy and some boy from Belfast wins the "unsung hero" award. I'm not particularly into these awards but I'd suggest there is at least some merit in giving such an award to an amateur sportsperson. The likes of Murray have millions as their award, in his case $85 million.
That being said Michael O'Neill's achievement in getting NI to the Euros was a worthy one given NI's resources.
