Hmmm. I agree to a large extent but would white folk in the UK who display racist tendencies or at least the capacity for racism really even reply to Nigerian folk in a relatively civil manner?Neil F wrote:Baggy, you usually talk a lot of sense but I fear you're wrong about Trump - sensible people aren't the target of Trump's nonsense. With all due respect to them, the people who support the likes of Trump are not the sort to do a volte-face in the presence of contradictory evidence. Platforming Trump allows him to spread this gibberish to more poor susceptible idiots; and like a Daily Mail exposé, it is the headline that will stick with those liable to support him, not the apology that follows few days later... There may well be something in that Neil, however I come from a position of disliking censorship. Far better to expose a ballix to the vast majority than to try to stem his appeal to assholes by the remarkably ineffective means of keeping him physically out of the country, he will pervade the airwaves whether from his home base or in the UK/Europe.Neil F wrote:Baggy, you usually talk a lot of sense but I fear you're wrong about Trump - sensible people aren't the target of Trump's nonsense. There are 400,000 corbynistas in the uk and they turn up at every rally and sign every change.org petitionSnipe Watson wrote:Banning Trump would be rediculious. He doesn't need to be in the UK to appeal to Willie Frazer, UK racists and assorted other mad ejits who shout at the television. Banning him would only play into his agenda.
