Irish professional soccer is a joke, north and south.
Remember when the 'decent skins' in the effin F A effin I blocked the move of Wimbledon to Dublin?
All they care about is their little fiefdoms and having a club in the English league threatened that.
And having 2 associations means jobs for the boys on the double so we'll always have 2 mickey mouse leagues.
If Wimbledon had come to Dublin we might have, down the line, had a franchise from Belfast in and maybe even, probably a bit lower down the English pyramid, a club from Cork.
Realistically those 3 are the only centres on this island capable of supporting professional soccer.
I wish to hell that RTE would stop wasting my licence money covering this crap.

And I say that as someone who has in my innocent youth attended far too many league of ireland games.
All it is is a rest home for has-beens and never good enoughs all of whom seem to be jackeens

Rather fitting that 50 years on this very week from that speech, the Glens are gonna live the dream and beat the Blue stars
by at least 2 nil tomorrow @ Windsor Pk. Unfortunately I'll not be there.

well at the end of the day 0-0 was fine by me, especially with the Blue stars now sitting proudly at the bottom of the table.

I'm not a glentoran fan but I did attend one of their away matches in Europe many moons ago.

Surprised HWM hasn't been on here to congratulate Crusaders and Linfield on progressing to the next round of their European competitions.

Anyone hear how the Glens got on though?

There's always next year :). And all the best to Crusaders in the next round. But, as always, hope the Blue s.c.u.m lose.

The jealousy shown by Glenmen when faced with more Linfield success is remarkable.

It is good to see Belfast's Big Two progressing in Europe.
