You need to try a few more beers.
I have tried many and settled for Estrella.

Comes at a premium but goes down easy

Suggestions welcome Mr Mervyn

Not really into lagers to be fair Russ so probably not in the best place to advise.

Love the German and Czech dark beers and the Trappist beers of the low countries if I'm pushing the boat out.

Oh of course. Only one thing to me has ever been better than a Czech beer and that was a Croat beer who's name is beyond me.

It being 35 degrees on the beach may have clouded my judgement.

But for a lunchtime necking pint there is nothing better than an Estrella.

A Hollyoaks actor got me drinking it

I once went to a beer festival in Karlovac. (back in the Yugoslavia days). A litre of their festival brew was about 3p (and I suspect they were ripping us of because we were the only tourists there.).

Saw the park on the news years later with trenches and gun emplacements.

The rum ration was only abolished in 1970. The Royal Navy seemed to manage alright for a couple of hundred years on a daily ration of the hard stuff. Indeed, it could be argued that it has gone steadily downhill since they abolished it >EW

Walking in a strange city and a group of strangers start singing SUFTUM as you approach. That second or two before you remember your wearing your Ulster gansie.

Oh lookie here. Castlereagh being the big boy. Nearly three years here, 22 post the only rugby related one being how Roger Wilson is a great player, showing loyalty if nothing else.

Let me tell you sonny, brighter things than you have dropped from my arsehole.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
