Eddies problem was he picked the wrong players including one who had announced his intention to retire . He also played a warm up game against a team with nothing to lose by stretching the rules and players took knocks which should have been avoided .

Eddie goofed big time in pre and also during the World Cup over playing the same XV and they became mental exhausted as much as well as carrying knocks .

Retiring players can provide experience to younger players and reliable subs but in my opinion have no place in starting XV

Roight...Jesus H Christ where to start. I wonder is this just to get a reaction?

They're all professional so they are all equally fit? Is Mike Ross, for example, equally as fit as Heaslip because they both train together for Ireland?

Do we expect that all international teams actually do is a one paced set of laps around the pitches they train at?

Ballsocks-strength, conditioning and nutrition are all intertwined taking into account physiological make up of the players, positional requirements, etc etc to tailor specific programmes. Altitude training and other environmental aspects are other aspects worth examining as well.

Eddies green monkeys were underpowered. They took the wrong approach to S&C and were beasted physically by, in some instances, completely inferior players.

No when comparing Ross to Heaslip to are comparing a Clydesdale to a race horse both are fit for their purpose the roles are different .

Physical fitness is only a part of the jigsaw there is also the mental .

No matter how fit you are going into the competition that fitness will be reduced by injury and the more games each player takes part in the greater the chance that both physical and mental fitness will be reduced .

As Joe concluded after Ireland's near win against the ABs the game was lost because the Irish bench was weaker than the New Zealand bench thus ABs subbed like for like while Ireland subs were not of equal merit to the players they replaced .

With both Eddie and Deccie there were players in the squad who knew that had Ireland faced three inferior teams they would never start while the players on the pitch became knackered by the number of games they had to
Play

Ireland's problem this time is that the hardest games will be the last 2 .requiring the best team Joe can put on the pitch thus if they make the quarters they will lack time to recover from the last two games in the group .

The outcomes have more basis on who has the best squad in depth rather than which squad is the fittest because most are equally fit .
Take the last World Cup the ABs were going into the final with possible their 3 /4 choice out half Ireland just would not be able to do that
That is the difference
