Interest in him from English clubs, Ireland looking to cap him apparently. Strange one as he was decent for the Irish 20's but fell of a cliff performance wise for Quins this season.

That said perhaps it's simply difficult to stand out for them when as a team they are struggling.

This tour won't commit him to Ireland though given that these aren't the Wolfhounds our designated A team.

Doaky and Bryn stressing the point last night that the step up from U20s to even AIL is massive.
Can I come out from behind the sofa yet?

...They did say step-up difference was mostly for front 5 but generally in forwards. Said lots of promising guys go to Senior squad and get eaten alive. They want to target home grown development players especially forwards (eg new coach). Said that schools basically selected 8 back-rowers in the pack and guys with prop potential were losing out-trawling 2nd XVs etc.

Anything else of interest?
Bryn categorically denies Esportif bias.

Doakie categorically denies any thought process in the Glesga selection. Just sore bodies after Munster and resting knocks.

Sounds like they don't rate O'Hagan.

Didn't get the impression there would be much more in the way of signings.

Discussed cover players. "You won't get anyone good, if they don't have a contract anywhere else there must be an issue".

Increased targeting of Ravens and B&I cup. Proposed 18 matches incl cup, interpros and matches with Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I missed 3 ballot prizes by a couple of numbers and somebody won 2 which is patently unfair!

Sounded like half the squad were having scans last night.

Andy T should be ready "end July" and hopefully in contention for RWC.
