Thought Hendo wAs puffing a bit and understandable but in truth a 6 and we need to grow a set of balls and force that issue because he is what we need there and if he plays well enough at 6 for us then Ireland will have to play him...
But Munter and Linseed don't like Tuohy
Munter don't like toner
Noone in munterville is good enough

So munterchubes want Hendo at 6
Linseed people think their backrows wont get in if Hendo is in

So the story of hendo being a 4 is created

Ryan had a good game!
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Madigan was atrocious. Utterly abysmal.

The Irish pack had the (albeit marginal) upper hand in the scrum, but were dominating the lineout...

SO - quiff's job was to get the ball into the Ingerlish 22 and pile the pressure on their line out. But, unfortunately for wee Ian, that doesn't involve show and goes, spinning out fancy passes (behind players) or little steps. Therefore, he wasn't all that interested.

Any wonder MOC doesn't start him at 10 when the going is tough?

Keatley for Rome please. [Is it too late to call up Steenson?]

Madigan is a good rugby player, but not at 10.

How nice was it to see a scrum contest? Until the English changed their props and started to play silly buggers

Marmion was like a younger version of beagle

It's hard for a young 9 when you have a showpony outside you

Likewise it is hard for the showpony if he has to twiddle his thumbs waiting for the young 9 to find the ruck, find the ball and then decide to pass it !

I thought Marmion was out of his depth last night. I think nearly everyone had a go at passing the ball from the base at some point. I fully expect him to learn though.

there wasn't much to get excited about in the half-back axis, the combination of Madigan and Marmion seemed to be less than the sum of its parts. I'm not overly critical though...they can't have played together that much, and Madigan especially needs to be playing more high-level rugby.

Good to see SOB back on. Henderson did very well and looks like an international at both 2nd row and 6. Beyond that...the English were flattered by the scoreline and Ireland created incredibly little, but that's no great shock. Sonny Bill Burgess - I doubt he'll learn the game enough to impact on the world cup.Think he's a wildcard at the moment and not one who will significantly improve the side to prove worthwhile as a short term gamble. Good player in time mind.

Madigan is normally a sound penalty taker that's the sum of his skills his option taking is usually poor with poor performance ball in hand 10 meters from the line he is an aggressive wee tu-d and every body remembers the penalties and the trys and forgets the cr-p.

Pretty poor stuff overall. I would say the only Irish player who really stood tall was Henderson. SOB obviously needed the run and played as well as one could hope.
