Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

I'm not knowledgable with older players, but I'll throw my tuppence in (see how old that was?!)
1. Healey (honestly, I'd say he's redefined the northern hemisphere expectations of a loosey)
2. Keith Wood (those lions tours were some of the best play from a forward I've seen)
3. Hayman (on his "hayday"... I won't make another)
4. Matfield
5. Whitelock
6. 1F
7. Richie McCaw
8. Reid (his offloading and sight for a forward is unsurpassed)
9. Gregan (Genia in his days of glory, but they were short lived)
10. Carter
11. Campese (he does what is needed of a winger better than any)
12. Gibson
13. (apparently Jack Kyle if I'd ever been able to see him) BOD
14. Lomu
15. JPR

Conrad Smith is the best 13 of all time and head and shoulders above any 13 in the past 15 years

Re: Greatest ever xv
Read an article in the Telegraph which listed a World XV.... obviously done for the purposes of sparking some form of debate as they had Heaslip at 8 and not Reid and Robshaw at 7 with no space for McCaw.
Whilst many of the old guard couldn't live with the pace and power of rugby today I still go old school everytime...

Matt, ye were going great guns there (well not really) until you proposed Jack Kyle at 13. He may have been the world's best ever 10 (and certainly was at one stage), but 13 - no (he never played there for a start). As for Gregan over Gareth Edwards, the world's best ever rugby player in ANY position ....... c'mon now.MattMo wrote:I'm not knowledgable with older players, but I'll throw my tuppence in (see how old that was?!)
