That's probably not a bad result for Brive - it was a reasonably strong Connacht team out there, and they lead for a good bit. Also from Twitter they seemed to have a good few chances, but Connacht defended well.

One interesting aside, Kieran Joyce - I believe younger brother of Connor, and former player for Malone and Ulster sub-academy - went on as a sub for Connacht.

Stu starts at 12 for the season opener at Bayonne.. interesting name on the team sheet, for anyone who saw any of the U20s WC this year, Demba Bamba starts at 3...

Bayonne 30-17 Brive

Stu scored a try, and apparently got a good mention in Midol (‘hasn’t lost any of his quality’ or similar).

Roughly: what a try by the irish capped player. The FIRFU are utter dicks for sacking him after being acquitted, ffs. This guy is a great player and a top shagger.

Stu at 12 again - match has kicked off, Brive currently trailing 0-6. They’ll need a result here - I saw last week a listing of the Pro D2 sides budgets and Brive were near the top, so I’d say Jez might feel the heat if they don’t start notching up a few wins...
