I hear that Eir Sport are getting the Irish rights. FFS - This is a right joke. Half the country can't even get access to that ballix channel, including me, even if they wanted to subscribe to it. Pro14 Rugby can shove it up their árses.
Now you know how we feel when the FIRFU sell off the Nordies to the highest bidder.

A couple of 42.ie articles this morning:

Active moves being made to move the final kick off time on the 26th forward to avoid a clash with the Champions League Final
Earliest the South African sides can try for H Cup/Challenge Cup seems to be 2020/21
Celtic Park (60k capacity) in Glasgow the favourite for the 2018/19 final venue.

So the tv deal. Premier Sports & Free Sports and Eir Sport are basically the rebranded UK & Irish arms of the old Setanta channel. Eir Sport have no equivalent free channel which is why TG4 are showing the 21 FTA games South of Newry, probably the same 21 which Free Sports will show in the UK. Same packages in both jurisdictions - 6 pay games and 1 free game/week with 2/3 on the Friday and 5/4 on the Saturday.

The Premier Sport package is very good value £9.99/month for 24 pay games/month or you can pay £99 upfront for 12 months.

The thing that worries me on this as someone who will be getting it through Sky is if we buy a Premier package are we liable to get hit with the old blue screen as Eir Sport have the Irish rights ?

Not sure about the TG4 always being the free match.

Apparently S4C are in line to being something similar in Wales and that is to cover a Welsh teams. I imagine TG4 will only really want Irish teams.

I doubt we will get a situation where we have 3 free matches -
1 on Free Sport
1 on TG4
1 on S4C.
but I suppose it is a possibility.

Can see TG4 and their weekly FTA game going blue screen with the UK package showing all 7 games. Eir Sport is not available in NI.

Under the new deal down Mexico way, Eir Sport 1 & 2 will show 6 pay games/week and they have sub contracted 21 games over season to TG4 where 1 free game/week is shown on the latter's channel. Whether it will be the same as the Free Sport FTA game, who knows?

The S4C lads it seems are trying to get some sort of deal as well, no details known.

Is it not still termed Setanta here ?

Think the parent company is still Setanta, but the channels have been rebranded.

I have nothing to do with them.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!
