On 12 November 1999, Ulster played Leinster at Ravenhill in an Interpro (Lost 22 - 23). There were two players named Clarke on the bench that day - Allen and Alastair. UR record Allen being used as a replacement but I suspect that it was actually Alastair who was used as a replacement - replaced Humphreys (which the UR website does not have).
Apart from the names (both A. Clarke), the shirt numbers in the match programme may also have created confusion - Allen was included as 22 and Alastair as 17.
Does anyone here know or could find out from the player?
The actual shirt number worn would be a big bonus.
