I see we coach our kids from an early age to hitch kick into where the greatest amount of cover is.
Not a night for great rugby but the uruguavians had us on the back foot for extended periods and butchered 2 absolute certs.
All our 3 tries were from rolling mauls. The backs could be playing till next week and they wouldn't score.

He wasn't great tonight. Particularly his kicking in open play.

Shocked to hear there was no silky back play or tactics to get the ball wide in horrendous weather conditions.

A theme throughout the season has been Ulster As ability to score from lineout maul. Is someone on the senior Ulster panel too proud to ask Willie what he is coaching them?

There was a lot of attempts at silky back play and getting the ball wide. Uruguay were better at it and also had a well organised defence. McPhillips did try a few chips in behind but they were not well executed.
Scrum shaded it and won several pens. Hardly a scrum went down which was surprising as the Loop seemed to have invaded parts of the pitch.
Underfoot conditions were poor but the rain had actually stopped and wind largely died down.

From the highlights video there were 2 rolling maul tries in the first half

During first maul ulster heaving over the line. Crowd making grunting noises. Band suddenly starts to fecking play some nonsense totally out of place

During second band starts playing I'll tell me fecking ma

FFS feck off band
