Re: Henry Speight
Sign him for two years and I'm interested. A couple of months is a PR stunt and waste of time...

I really don’t get the negativity. I think this is fantastic injury cover for Ludik at a time when our options in the back three are very limited. If we didn’t get injury cover everyone would’ve been complaining about that. I don’t see it as a PR stunt at all.

Injury cover is a PR stunt? I'm as cynical about PR as the next man, but this is far from a stunt, it's an absolutely correct move.bangorboy wrote:Sign him for two years and I'm interested. A couple of months is a PR stunt and waste of time...
If he makes a contribution like our last short term signing, he'll do for me.
Re: Henry Speight
Somebody else will be injured by then. We really need back three cover for the season. It seems a waste of an NIQ spot but I suppose there is feck all available.LegsLikeSausages wrote:Hopefully Ludik is fit.Dave wrote:What happens after that?

We're too close to the world cup to get a world class signing.Dave wrote:Somebody else will be injured by then. We really need back three cover for the season. Agreed. We should be in a good position after the WC with all NIQ spots open for next season. Bryn will be a busy bee.Snipe Watson wrote: We're too close to the world cup to get a world class signing.

Correct in all respects Legs, you are my Monday morning hero.
I'm as negative as the next man when called for, sometimes you might suggest, even when it's not, but this is exactly the right move with Louis & No Hands Luke on Sick Patrol and another injury that I suspect is not yet common knowledge.
Besides, he's a mate of Leali'ifano's and a bloody good player. if we had Dan Carter or Keiran Read at their peak for 4 months I think people might gurn, for me to see a great player in an Ulster shirt is good at any time. Is Henry great? Maybe not but he's bloody good.
I look forward to seeing him ............well, in the manner of Tommy from Comber, not at Ravenhill.

I have moved on with this as well, i really struggle to understand these short term signings but i will accept it and move on.
