Nucifora hinted at this outcome the other week.

He did indeed, though the fact the conversation was being had doesn't mean D4 necessarily started it.

How it came about doesn't make any difference to the fact he's here, just interested given it was apparently Cooney who instigated his move here last year.

Burns reckons he hadn’t thought of leaving Glos and it all happened pretty quickly.

The carrot of a World Cup spot has been mentioned by Humph as a reason why they didn’t stand in his way.

I suspect Humph had a reasonable involvement in this happening

If he's so ambitious how come he signed for us?

If his ambition is to play in a World Cup then we’re not a bad gamble for him.

This boy could go to the RWC and he knows it. A good signing in the circumstances and will be a decent backup to Paddy for Ireland in the future.

If someone told me last year that we would have signed this guy and PJ would be playing in France, I would have shat on their face. He ticks a few boxes that seemed untickable by any player with preseason already started.

He's young.
He's IQ.
He has a 100+ caps in a top tier league.
He's wants to come.
He's not Keatley.

McPhillips and Lowry are both quite injury prone. I think it is a decent signing.

He may well want to go to the RWC, but he wants to play for England.

Then moving to Ulster wasn’t the best call.
