Sacked by mutual consent.
I think there is an important distinction to be made here though, regarding the fact that they were not sacked, or had their contracts terminated, but they were paid off. The IRFU had no grounds to sack, if they could have they would have, but they had to write a cheque to the lads to satisfy the howls from twitter.

Again, we have no idea what grounds the IRFU had or didn't have to revoke their contracts. It may be in both the players' and the union's interest that we don't.
We have heard rumours re the size of the pay-off. Whether that can be termed generous, depends on the information we don't know. Also I suspect even those calculating the pay-off did not forsee the initial level of opposition to the players taking up employment elsewhere.
Can I come out from behind the sofa yet?

We do know they were paid off. I think the term "revoked" was purely a PR exercise. Leads people to believe that it was a dismissal, or termination of contract in the sense that someone might be dismissed for gross incompetence, say - when this clearly wasn't the case. IRFU paid them money, and given the circumstances they chose to accept. There was a negotiation.

This is entirely separate to whether there was any "real" options for the lads in the circumstances.

Face facts Turnip, Ulster is treated differently, not Irish enough for the FIRFUCs. Explain the different treatment of Nacewa & Pienaar, The Munster Shaggers & the Ulster non-rapists.

Or just fu'ck off with your bullshite.

Baggy you are indeed bitter and I can understand ( take Luke F view that Besty is 3rd choice hooker as a recent example) but dealing with the past only makes us more bitter.
The Ulster 2 are now employed and will return to these shores better players ,slogan, kiss and Jonno are also gone so move on
With new management ,coaches and back room staff let’s look forward
Oh what’s the best tonic for the Botanist gin

I like bitter Al, very much indeed, I also like to let a cu'nt know he is a cu'nt, hence my ongoing campaign of attempting to turn all of sound mind against our enemies in D4 and there are a lot of them.

As for Botanist Gin, currently, I wouldn't waste my money on it given I'm taking my gin with ginger, lime, angostura bitters & ginger ale. A common or garden Larios at €14.99 for 1.5 litres does the job nicely............very very nicely. >EW

I’m up to 48 bottles now.

The cabinet is getting a bit crowded.

Four Pillars, from Australia, do a nice spiced gin.

Makes the best Negroni i’ve tasted outside of Treviso.

Larios --- Baggy, "for a man of distinction and a real cool spender "-- I am most disappointed that stuff as the texture of 3&1 oil and nearly the same taste. Best swallowed with tomato juice and Ice -- except in some parts of Spain the Ice best avoided .

A gentleman I worked with went overto Spain for the World Cup, his diet was alcohol and ice, and ended up with Hepatitis A

You have been warned !!!

As so many times before, I caution you Ron'n, try reading what was written, maybe a couple of times, then try to get a sense of what it means. More often than not that will mean you won't make a fu'cking buffoon of yourself.

Almost certainly nothing to do with his diet then.

Baggy the IRFU made two offers which were either /or but neither was a playing status quo and the they chose best available offer .
The one refused really had nothing to recommend it and the second an offer they couldn’t refuse which sent them into non voluntary exile .

Of course Logan then made a bad deal worse by emphasising the negatives .

To my way of thinking recognising it as “non voluntary exile” provides the IRFU the ability to bend the perceived rules of selection if necessary .

And the opportunity to belatedly acknowledge publicly the fact that both players were innocent .

I've already explained on this forum what I believe is the IRFU thinking around Nacewa v Pienaar. I'm not going to do it again.

As for the Munster Shaggers v Ulster Shaggers - I'll explain it like this: In rugby these days punishment is often meted out as a result of outcome rather than intent or action. On the field if somebody takes out somebody in the air and that player lands on their feet the likely punishment is a penalty while if they land on their head the punishment is a red card. Same action but different punishment for it.

Now the Munster lads had their fun and the lady involved publicised the event herself and didn't make a big deal of it = No penalty even. While the Ulster boys had their fun and the lady involved decided she needed to drag them and by extension the IRFU and its sponsors(in their eyes) through the courts and even worse ultimately through the court of social media where every SJW and reactionary half-wit was baying for some blood = Penalty and red card for the lads.
