How many NIQs do Ulster have?
Marcell
Deysel
Speight doesn’t count.
Project
Hond
Is that right? Seems to be very very light on World Class NIQ players.
Going forward.
Priority 1 - A NIQ loosehead or Dooley.
Priority 2 - A NIQ 2nd row.
Possibility- A NIQ tighthead to aid TOT (obviously if Moore stays fit and looks promising then keep as is)
Possibility - with the likes of Hume and Moore coming through and Luke Marshall coming back from injury I still feel we are a centre light.
Thoughts?

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
what is SVM then? apart from a joke. Propping and second row need more SID and as I have always stated any NIQ SID needs to be quality not a stocking filler.. Deysel needs shown the door as does SVM and Rodney even though he is one of us..kingofthehill wrote:How many NIQs do Ulster have?

One thing that still baffles me somewhat was the summer signing of the Irish International scrum half (albeit 7's) which we pushed thru only to have him disappear 3-4 days after arriving. He was on an IRFU contract when he came here presumably we offered him a contract now he is seemingly back on his original IRFU contract.
In the meantime Munster have come calling for another nine and Bennie who if not mistaken is one of their own wasn't even considered at the expense of bringing in another NIQ. What happened over three days in Belfast during the summer that seen this abrupt change of mind and him seemingly being taken back elsewhere by the same employer. We chased him we got him we got rid of him and he still has an IRFU contract.
In the scheme of things probably nothing but maybe another interesting insight in our style of recruitment.

Yip.
Marcell said recently that the fact that Ulster stood by him will count when he considers his future. I'm hoping that is slightly ambiguous only because he doesn't want to put himself in the position of accepting a crap offer but will take a reasonable offer. He is still in recovery mode I'd guess but I thought he put himself about well yesterday.
I'm hoping come Christmas time that he has shown himself someone we desperately want to keep.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
