The State of English Rugby

Post by Russ »

Serious discussions required

The demise of English Rugby has been foretold since prior to the Lions tour
The PRL sweat their assets worse than any other league and it is now having a detrimental effect on the quality of rugby across Europe

What can be done to fix English Rugby?

The eRFU gave away all their family silver in order to host the World Cup.

PRL seem to hold all the cards.

Key to this is how they've wrecked the HEC before and likely to do it again

Given their stupid situation constantly fecks over Irish rugby we sadly need to

The eRFU must take action against their clubs

Said elsewhere; the RFU need to find a way to buy the clubs.

If those in charge had a shred of vision, they'd see the long term future only ends up in their demise (akin to wendyball).

The next club that is going to the wall*, the RFU should step in and buy them for a song. Rinse and repeat* until they are in a position to buy out the last few clubs.

*given the finances over there, shouldn't take too long.

They need to disband the aviva boshiership. Keep a handful of clubs and petition the pro 14 to make a 'B' league for second tier clubs.

Volunteer at an animal sanctuary; it will fill you with joy , despair, but most of all love, unconditional love of the animals.
