I'd be surprised if they offered games to FTA channels or put them on delayed coverage on free sports. Why would anyone subscribe to Premier then?

They might give away a few brad pitt games now and again but I wouldn't expect anything semi-regularly.

Have the figures Premier Sport are paying for the rights been made known?

Did Sky have the rights previously and sell to FTA?

How many games a season will they actually show?

Sky didn't have exclusive rights, they just got first choice of fixture(s) each week.

Sky weren't desperate for new subscribers though. Premier Sports will be using the Pro14 as their flagship sports programming to try and get as many UK subscribers as they can.

Selling surplus Ulster games to BBCNI wouldn't impact their subscriptions much if at all.

I think it's GBP.

It's only a couple of M more than last season, so div that by 14 and it nowhere near makes up for the loss of FTA coverage.

I saw 200k per side extra which is really feck all in real terms though the big question is actually how much more their deal was than what BBC was offering which may well be considerably more.

From memory, Wasn't the BBC around 4.5M (I think they may have been S4C and TG4 included)

So Sky must have been a large slice of total, very hard to work out though as there are so many combinations involved

Yip Sky was the big amount and whatever the SA's brought.

The Beeb increased offer was probably still well short of the Setanta bid.

I fear they (P14) may have decided to maximise the income from the Irish rights without considering the consequences for the UK.

I'll give it 3 years, before it disappears in a puff of irrelevance.
