IMHO Timoney is born and built to play 8. He has a backside on him like a Mullingar heifer, his acceleration and low centre of gravity make him a real threat off the back of a scrum.

Dalton wasn't great for under 20's in the first match as a 6, he is a young guy and Edinburgh will be a very very physical game.

Plus Dalton is a lock - hence he didn't look good at 6,was hoping Jones might have made a reappearance but maybe Deysel is needed against a very physical side.

Dalton is definitely a 6 and he was excellent in the u20s against a massive french pack. He loves the physical stuff.

He was poor. He looked lost out there and was overpowered in contact a good number of times.

One that I'm quite surprised by! This is the first time I've seen anyone talk positively about that performance.

Want to watch where you say he has a backside like a Mullingar heifer, I met this lot on a night out a few months ago and I wouldn't have messed with them.

Dalton looks a good player, but he's a lock, not a 6.

I've plenty of hope for Dalton don't get me wrong, just that game wasn't one to inspire it! The only backrowers which I felt came out of it with much credit were Sullivan at 8 and Hall before he came off, who showed I felt a lot more promise to me than he had previously.
