I was working so couldn't even catch the game on a dodgy stream, but how did the ref do in the Ulster game vs the Kings. Obviously a landmark game!

She was excellent. She was cool, calm and devoid of an overbearing ego. Wasn't afraid to back her own decisions and listened to the TJs. It was a baltic evening and she spared us the usual 20 minutes of replays on the big screen.

As an aside, WTF is happening with the big screens and the black squares? It's like the slowest ever game of reverse catchphrase. I'm hoping a disgruntled ex-employee has it set to join them up to say 'Logan is a nob' by April.

She had a good game, but missed one blatant forward pass right in front of her. I expected no less as I have seen her officiate before and she was excellent. For a woman to reach the level she has reached, she needs to be good to have burst the glass ceiling so quickly. I'd imagine she will not be happy with her performance, but that's why she will reach the top. She shouldn't be judged any less harshly than a man.

10 tries and not one referred "upstairs", She simply checked a couple of them with the touch judge and gave the decision.

But best of all was the simple way she dealt with a mouthy Kings' forward . A simple shut up gesture of putting a finger to her lips, followed by signalling a penalty instead of a free kick. Don't think she actually said anything to the guy, but away he walked looking like a schoolboy who'd been told off by teacher.

I can't remember ever having left a match reffed by an IRFU referee and had less to complain about. She was very consistent and let the game flow.

I thought the forward pass should have been picked up by the touchie too.

Probably helped by being such a one sided affair where the odd 50-50 call gets fewer complaints but nevertheless was good.

The fact that it was such a one sided game did help her. Tighter games are harder to officiate.

In fairness it wasn't a very competitive game and this probably helped reduce the number of contentious decisions. A flat crowd also. The true test will come at a packed ground with a vociferous crowd to see how clear the thinking and player control is. She deserves the chance and I hope she gets the opportunities.

Admirable job, but like young McPhillips, she will have sterner tests. Thought it was a pleasure to see quick decision making and no drama. :thumleft:

He was grand. Can't say I agreed with all his interpretations, but I never do. Scrums weren't great. Lucky there were so few.

Such a lovely young lady, brings sometime fresh to the game. I don't know much about rugby but she left the changing room spotless . Not bad for a langer from Limerick.

Are UR toilets within the changing area gender neutral?
