Ormeau and Ravenhill are both within the South Belfast constituency.

Constituency my firm rounded cheeks. Don’t go giving it large about some poxy political boundary line drawn up by some quango in order to elect failed businessmen, corner boys, wheel clamp vandals and ex-terrorists to a meaningless talking shop which was set up to give them a wage in the hope the money/bribe would stop them killing innocent people and each other. Leave it awt you shhlaag.

Sorry, I went a bit Ray Winston there. I hope I haven’t caught Lionel.

Spanners is aff the Creggie Road pal. That’s East Belfast to me and always will be.

Oh East Belfast

You've been away too long mate!

When I was in my teens I moved from the Castlereagh Road over to the Woodstock Road, my address, which was less than halfway down Ravenhill Avenue, was in the South Belfast election constituency.

It felt all wrong at election time but trust me, as a born and bred Eastie, East Belfast stretched as far as the Ravenhill Road entrance to Ormeau Park and down to the Albert Bridge.

My cousins lived off the Ormeau Road behind the bakery, they never referred to where they lived as East Belfast, it was not and will never be East Belfast, in fact they'd be outraged as it would probably affect their property values ha!

No it’s bloody not Russ, people who reside in the Holylands, including the students would be horrified to associate themselves with the East Image.

You must be a culchie!

Ah, ok I get it now. Lisburn Rd folk are so much more South Belfast than Ormeau Rd!

It’s like the North Down thing in that Holywood people think they are so much more North Down than Bangor folk Image.

You should’ve just said that in the first place ImageImage
