Wasps Vs Ulster Sun 21/01/18 BT Sport

Post by UlsterNo9 »

Is this our biggest game since Sarries last knocked us out of Europe? Bigger than our obligatory end of season pasting at Leinster in a league semi.

A 'five pointer' will get us a home quarter final.

If Herbst is fit I'd start him over Rodders. Otherwise the same pack.

Tell you what both Black & Rodders did OK, themins props are bastes.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Deysel did the warm up on Sat, looked fit and was taking contact. Assume he is available also, though must have missed out last week on selection so could well again.

An explanation please. Clearly if Ulster are beaten next week but get a bonus point Wasps cannot get above them in the table. However if Wasps get 5 points and Ulster none the commentators are saying they will go above Ulster even if on the same points and Ulster have a greater points difference. Is the correct?

Big rodders missed about 4 tackles in the first half. I like big Ray but the deer hunter might be more reliable. Although big Stevie reckons Ray is a big ball carrier. I wouldn't argue with big Stevie in person because...well he's big and should not be averse to dishing out a backhand to someone giving guff.

I don't personally see a way into the team for big Jean. The backrow played really well on Saturday.

I don't think it was as many as four for Rodders, ESPN reckons he made 8 and missed 2. Interestingly it says Cave made 2 and missed 2.

Henderson conceded 4 penalties on Saturday.....

Rodney in. Cave and Hendo out.

Big Mattie Rea was the best ball carrier in forwards. McCloskey had 12 carries and ran 1 metre. Stockdale, defenders beaten: 9.

Wonder is this how Les picks the team?

Rodney is always going for the highlight reel tackle. He makes the odd one but is just as likely to be side-stepped and completely overrun the man. Big hits really get the crowd and the team going though.

Carrying wise he can take the ball on a rumble and make yards, but again I'm usually watching through my fingers for the knock on.

So if he could quit giving away scrum pens, missing tackles and knocking on he'd be some pup.

The Rochelle match was brutal. Some of the guys looked done in afterwards, so there might be some knocks and niggles requiring changes. Black for example looked so stiff and sore that he could have been suffering from rigor mortis.

Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

The fact we didn't get totally manshamed in the scrums on Saturday was an achievement. Even big Rodders did well. I have no idea who taught Nugget to scrummage, but he has looked really solid this season.
