We're only just over an hour away from Leinster.
In rugby terms, we're not in the same solar system.

Maybe the guys will tackle the 'we are not so far behind Leinster statement' certainly not only worthy of discussion but also further clarification... I would also love to hear Peel have to explain his comments live on TV that our defence isn't that bad or was it good that he said.. during the Leinster match.
As stated the collective command structure in Ulster needs developed... but hey no one will listen to me !

Re: Ulster Rugby Round-Up podcast
baggy... I think I used his words but for the purpose of clarity he would have presumably meant leading the 1st Royal Irish... not the home service UDR but the first regular (NI) army battalion to serve here in during the troubles and something he is on record as claiming... it helps of course if your still in the fecking regular army but why let that stand in the way of a good story over lunch...BaggyTrousers wrote:FFFS Cockers, are you saying he was in the RA, leading a platoon of volunteers across the border? Never took him for a Chuckie the bounder.Cockatrice wrote:Now tender... I have heard from what I would called reliable sources of the stories told by our beloved CiC of his exploits in the Falklands indeed they have been the subject of much slagging here.Tender wrote:He sank the Belgrano and he's taking us down.
What the Colonel forgets is that he joined in April 1982 the same month as the conflict started if not mistaken and despite still having to complete his 44 week course at Sandhurst he seemingly by-passed that and went straight into the conflict. Now if you believe that you may be as deluded as Kiss.
By July that same year a few weeks after the Falklands and only part way through Sandhurst his commission was terminated. Says all you need to know about a man who then claims to have have been the man who led the first Irish troops in the conflict here. That did happen until 87-88 ish so more BS.
So you tell us he flunked Sandhurst old boy, how then did he rise to Colonel and where did he find the time to become a war hero in the Green Berets, the KGB, Mossad, the Paras and doubtless did a spell as successor to Kofi at the UN as well as launching Choke a Cola as the pre-eminent non-vodka in the USSR under his sidekick Vlad Putin-on-the-Ritz?

Leinster actively go into schools with seasoned pros and coaches to not only coach boys but also the teachers.Tender wrote:We're only just over an hour away from Leinster.

Ulsters decided to not interfere with the schools.
Question
Would that be a start?

Yep, Chris Henry was at Inchmarlo just before Crimbo . Caused some moisture.
Can't be easy promoting the game whenever Wendyball has such a high profile in the media, as its exploited by TV to make money. Kardashian teenagers with sporting ability are drawn towards the crazy money which Wendyballists can earn, as they grow up believing money brings happiness.
The IFA have countless coaches doing the rounds in schools. It seems every journeyman who ever pulled on a Norn Iron jersey, gets a job at the IFA. Ulster Rugby couldn't begin to finance that scale of operation, but every effort should be made to get into schools (All schools) and get kids enjoying rugby.

You could be confusing tokenism compared to a fluid system with a clear strategy for end gain.Russ wrote:Im 100% certain Ulster have coaches and dev officers in schoolsLiz Fraser wrote:Leinster actively go into schools with seasoned pros and coaches to not only coach boys but also the teachers.Tender wrote:We're only just over an hour away from Leinster.

Actually tokenism is a word that could sum up Ulster Rugby.
Brings me nicely to another panel question
What one word would sum up for you the current state of Ulster Rugby?

Took me seconds to find this.
Couldn't find anything for Ulster unless someone wants to enlighten me.

Always ask yourself, "What would Big Rodney do"... And every time the answer is... "Eat It"
