Ulster v Scarlets 15/9/2017

Post by BaggyTrousers »

Just listened to Fit's video on the Ulster website regarding the game happening on the fifth anniversary of the tragedy for the Spence family and saying there will be a minutes silence before the game.

Pulled me up in my tracks somewhat I must confess, yesterdays bloody awful match doesn't quite matter so much after all.

Must be a game we are not targeting
Ulster director of rugby Les Kiss has admitted Scarlets will be expected to conquer Kingspan Stadium on Friday should his side repeat their performance from Saturday's win over Treviso.

Ulster have started the season with successive wins, but left Italy on Saturday night both frustrated and relieved after blowing the chance for a try-bonus and, in the end, having to hold on as Treviso threatened to steal an unlikely draw from 21-0 down.

"They'll rightly be favourites and we need to improve on what we did (against Treviso), if we're going to put something up against them," Kiss said of Friday night's task.

"It'll be tough to say the least. They're champions, they're in a good vein of form and they've continued on from last year."

Well Treviso were bigged up to be a really tricky away fixture. It's ok to give the opposition some respect but it's almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy. We made it hard. This is our dear leader talking, so it seems we have been hammered without kicking a ball.

What else do you expect him to say? bigging up the other side is nothing new. Ulster always respond after a bad game and he's just trying to focus the minds. We should see a better performance. Whether or not we're good enough, even at home, I'm not sure. I think it will be close.

Dear Lesley,

1. Pick your strongest team
2. Don't sub anyone important off until the result is squarely in the bag.

Don't flood the pitch with Daves until we have a BP.

So, we are 2nd favourites in a two horse race on our own lawn according to JudasKiss.

My considered opinion is that he should be sacked for that alone, what is that way to start the week, we'll probably lose says DOR Kiss.

Am I alone in finding his statement unacceptable, lose to the Scarlets at home?

OK so to keep us amused ...

Who are we resting?

Who are we playing in a stupid position(s)?

Who are we ignoring?
