This thread's a farce.

Why did they take Ruan off in the 36th minute?

Ferris used strength to lift opponents and power to carry them back the lift denied power to the ball carrier . Henderson uses strength to rip the ball from an opponent - strength is an essential of the modern game if it wasn't players wouldn't spend hours in a gym doing weights .

The key factor is how to increase weight in the form of lean mass without compromising speed and thus reducing power. Pure strength training alone won't achieve this which is why players have a varied strength and conditioning programme. This is why your casual observations and anecdotal nonsense about Rea needing stronger arms and legs is ill-informed BS.

You have no idea what his optimal power to weight ratio is. You have no idea what his current one rep max is for squat/ deadlift etc. or his max power output is. Your last sentence sums up your entire simplistic knowledge on the subject... players go to the gym to get strong.

Reminds me of the time you decided to inform everyone which counties were Celtic nations. You seem to think that if you have some knowledge in your head that: a) it is correct and b) no one else will have this knowledge.

Dave

observation beats bullshit

as in lets blind them with

if I don't know then unless your in the gym with him neither do you
But the one thing I do know Wilson and Henry have filled out since they first put on an Ulster shirt and Rea needs to build on his strength .

That is not a put down just an observation.

Sham... I knew that but wondered how many others realised that he had already been deemed surplus to requirements and released... did they feel bad how they had treated him? Because they have led him up the garden path big time.

Deemed not good enough, so why play him and Mulholland ?

I see the Baa Baas had booze in the changing room, I wonder if that's them banned now as it is against stadium rules, maybe they will write an apology to the branch, petty petty Ulster .

Because he's so last year? One of my pals was away combing his hair and powdering his arsepeice when Ruan went off, he is an occasional attendee & when told Ruan was gone he wanted to go home.
