I would take Stuart Lancaster, has great experience working with younger players. We could do a lot worse

It would be very Ulster-and very funny- if Jonno had a get out “if offered international coaching role” clause in his contract.

Jono says no.

I don't think Jonno would have accepted the position of Ulster top dog knowing the Oz gig was on the cards, if that was his preference. Jonno doesn't want a menial position under Cheika. He is a top dogger now.

I'd like to think so as well Dave. Surely he sees sorting out Ulster as a challenge rather than a poisoned chalice.
If he delivers success here, he'll be a leg end.

Did he accept the position or did he inherit it by default?

I think his decisions will be very much based on how the players react to him in both attitude and performance from this point on, coupled with what backing he gets upstairs.
If he doesn’t get either I for one wouldn’t blame him for going but would be greatly disappointed.

The fact that Malone actually discussed it in the beeb interview for me confirms it is on the table for sure.
We really have just proved to the rugby world what numpies we are from the top down.

It’s a hard watch last few years, let’s hope the right decisions are made by all concerned from here on in.

As an aside I will be judging Jono on the rest of the season on the overall team performance, he has something still to prove I hope he gets it right.
