It's a sensible pre-emptive move. Better to sack Jonno now before it doesn't work out. I hear that McGlocks has been hired and sacked again in the same phone call.

If Gibbes goes it only serves to confirm the rot in UR is not being addressed any time soon.

Perhaps this is part of the review Bryn was talking about !

It will probably be our first indication of whether this review is actually going to instigate any real change. One thing we know is that Joe will be wanting Jonno to stay in the IRFU system - maybe he and DN can do us a favour for a change

Three DoRs, four head coaches and two CEOs from now Ulster will make the playoffs.

Don't worry that is this season.

Is that code to say we have just sacked John Plumtree?

UR: Hi John
JP: Hello
UR: sorry but we have to let you go
JP: err from what?
UR: head coach
JP: I don't work for you
UR: Not yet
JP: Is that you again Eddie trying to free up a job for yourself?
UR: No it's Ulster, we have just completed our end of midway season systems and processes review and decided to let you go. At the last review we decided to hire you in 6 months time but this review states it doesn't work out. Sorry.
JP: WTF?

UR ... Hi is that you Willie.
WA ... Yes, I've been sitting over my phone for the last week and a half, I haven't slept.
UR ... Just to let you know there's a job opening up for DoR at Ulster.
WA ... Well lads, I've been waiting for years for this moment ... but I'm Ulster to the core, what do you need me to do.
UR ... Willie we all know yer a true Ulsterman ... is there any way you would consider ... well this may come as a shock ...
WA ... Go ahead - I'm yer man ...
UR ... OK Willie ... well it's like this - do you know anyone .. I mean ANYONE who would like to have a go at DoR ... we've tried just about everyone on the planet and we're just 100% out of any ideas ... then someone said Big Willie Anderson ... he's bound to know somebody.

I not sure we'd get any better - but it would be fun to see Big Willie rip though the stuffed shirts in the Branch like a doss of the squids at a laxative convention.

He is outside the boundaries of Lisburn away over there though.

Wouldn’t it be funny if after the second/third review of structures in 3 years that Lord Lucan reappeared to take up his CEO seat again..
