No pressure John
Re: John Cooney
A good signing. As I said before when I have watched him he has been impressive. Had an excellent game for Connacht at the week end. Strong , fast and a good passer of the ball.
Re: John Cooney
Big boots to fill John. Let's hope he gets a good run in the team behind a good pack going forward!!!!
Re: John Cooney
Agree on him having a decent game for Connacht on Saturday although he played 10.
Still it gives us another potential option as a backup for Paddy if we've sufficient cover at 9 (p )

"Les Kiss was a big factor is my move too as he's so well-respected and I believe I can develop my game under his coaching. I spoke with him at length a few times about his hopes for Ulster Rugby and it sounds like an exciting time to be involved in the set-up."

Wooohooo!! Only donkey left on the board
Re: John Cooney
If the Connacht fans are genuinely as upset to lose him as they say they are then Cooney could be a good steal. Welcome John
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.
Re: John Cooney
Connacht fans are bigger moaners than ourselves.

Re: John Cooney
Unless we see new coaches, you might as well sign me as scrum half for next season.

Re: John Cooney
Connaught have the current Irish second string as a starter and a couple of scrum halfs in their Academy .
Thus time was starting to work against Cooney at Connaught and to be honest I think he is better than a bench every week .
Looks as if he has a reasonable pass, an ability to weight his kicking ,and awareness of players around him as well as a bit of pace ,and could well improve with regular game time .

Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist
