I think if he's played a year for LI he should be IQ. Sure he probably had a Guinness with a wee shamrock on the top in the club bar on Paddy's Day.

Big Jean is joint 4th in the league in turnovers won, despite only turning up infrequently.

Our knee doctor has been a bit busy in the last few games.

Who from Jean, Rea and Hendy is gonna be fit for pre- season training.

Place your bets.....

Suspect it’s just a case Botha was on a 1yr deal at LI. Not sure it makes any sense to sign him with the youngsters coming through, I think it’s just speculation. If deysels knee was blown for the season, I’d use the NIQ on a 2nd row, without IH we are totally underpowered. We lost so many games because we could not compete upfront physically. Also he doesn’t fit the top class NIQ bracket.

That is a damning assessment of our breakdown skills. The best turnover operators were Rory and Henry, both of whom have hardly played. As well as timoney and Reidy have played, they aren’t great at turnovers. Great stat for deysel with so limited game time, but pretty damning for the coaching of the breakdown.

I think there’s a limit to how much you can coach isn’t there?

The best turnover operators seem to be big lads (Nick, Jean or T Beirne) or little ones (Rory, Hamish Watson or Cubby).

Reidy and Timoney bring different things to the table.

Timoney's a work in progress still I feel, I'm holding out hope that as a damn smart player he'll pick up the tricks to make a nuisance of himself at the breakdown as Henry was (and to a certain degree still is).

He only signed for LI in Jan and they sensibly only signed him until the end of the season. He's out with a calf injury but it’s not a gunshot wound. His Ulster Knee seems to have withstood the rigours of Avivabosh.
Questionable if he’d come here after Bryn told him to do one...

I couldn't remember his real name at the time.

I get confused with all these Davies, Jones and Evans etc.
