Can Ulster Rugby risk a shoot to kill scandal which could result if we use these? >sniper

+1

Falls a long, long way short of the likes of Eddie O'Sullivan in both determining the key factors in a good/bad performance and then explaining it.

As long as the BBC panel has EOS in it, then it works. But, if he isn't there, then no matter which of the other five (MF, TMcW, AW, SF or RC) make up the combo, its lightweight.

Being a great player doesn't mean you've a great understanding of the shape of a game.

Being too close to the team isn't his problem (as numerous slaggings off would testify) - he's just a poor pundit.

In his book, he says he found he was naturally critical of the side on TV but he also says that he wanted to be remembered as someone who could change a game through one massive hit which, whilst he probably will be, is hardly indicative of someone who is likely to be remembered for their incisive punditry.

There are exceptions, and I don't mean Brian Moore, but backs make better pundits than forwards. Discuss...

Agree with much of the above, and it explains why 1F is trying to make a living from his celebrity and not as a coach or technician of the game.

Well said Moleskin. Ferris is a legend and if he sat there quoting song lyrics from Haircut 100, he still be talking more sense than the shyte which pours freely from the holes of ALL our coaching staff.
Anyone, and I do mean ANYFECKINONE who has a bad word to say about Stevie can meet me at any home game and they will be totally excoriated.

Ferris is taking his first steps in coaching.
He may be a bit of a stuck record and lack technical finesse in his summaries but can anyone actually say that he is wrong?
