One rule for them...
So Munster have confirmed Taute is to stay with them for the remainder of the season...
Has echoes of the time when Brad Thorn was brought in to cover when Plug was injured ( and recovered very quickly ) to the point where Thorn was playing with the guy he was emergency cover for...
Coetzee on the other hand is injured and we get feck all... thanks IRFU

Re: One rule for them...
So which one was it?
1) The IRFU told UR to do one you Nordie langers
2) UR looked but couldn't get anyone willing to join short term
3) UR didn't bother looking as,
(a) no money to pay them.
(b) it didn't cross their minds
(c) everyone was fully fit so didn't meet UR's criteria of being injured
(d) they believed they had enough cover
The only successful medical joker that we have had was Stefan Terblanche and I'm lead to believe Johann influenced him, sadly no Johann, no influence.

Scrum... you missed the option that UR prioritised a prop as the main concern and begged on hands and knees to D4 to get a quality Georgian prop at all costs...
Currently studying Stage 5 (level3) at IRFU

We have a Georgian back rower as well- Roger Wilson is now THAT old.scrum5 wrote:We had a Georgian prop Didn't notice.
Re: One rule for them...
Ross Kane and now Jonny Simpson have proved what is wrong with the systems, also Simpson at least last season anyway was moved to LH to accommodate Craig Trenier at TH, we have 3 up and coming TH's who should be given the chance.

Nucifora was behind the Erasmus appointment and wants it to be seen as a success - this explains things.
Re: One rule for them...
I distinctly recall the rumour here being that we'd got someone good lined up for replacing Coetzee and were told to use the academy. Has this rumour been squashed since then?

I remember hearing that Dublin said no to a replacement, but don't remember who said it. Granted many of the rumours posted here are claptrap, but that one did have a ring of truth to it as I recall.Nightsoil wrote:I distinctly recall the rumour here being that we'd got someone good lined up for replacing Coetzee and were told to use the academy. And did we try the academy?....Joyce in Edinburgh and that was it wasn't it? What's the perceived problem with Dow for him not to have a crack? If herbst or Kane had been available Simpson wouldn't have played...because he had a chance it's looking like we have a decent player. There Maybe double standards at play, but Let's not rule out the part of shooting ourselves in the foot too. A lot of our problems are self inflicted and so therefore hopefully within our power to resolve. The summer will be very interesting and busy at UR I suspect....and hope.

Nucibollocks went as far as denial of that one in the press, I had heard it from a pretty reliable source long before it was mentioned on hereSnipe Watson wrote:I remember hearing that Dublin said no to a replacement, but don't remember who said it. It was use our own academy back rows or have some of Leinster's or Munster's if they were available.

There will be a serious heap of hoping for you to do in that case unless there are a raft of changes in the systemDharper wrote:And did we try the academy?....Joyce in Edinburgh and that was it wasn't it? Do keep up gentlemen, I have explained all this at length in recent weeks.Chris Montez wrote:Nucifora was behind the Erasmus appointment and wants it to be seen as a success - this explains things.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Re: One rule for them...
I see Pat Lam has come out saying Connacht were blocked from playing his son (currently of Galwegians and Connacht Eagles) for free to cover injury because he's a foreigner. Now Lam is leaving, we might hear more stories of this nature?
