The "band"

Post by Russ »

Should we organise a movement to remove them? We could provide them with honest feedback?

Please post your thoughts on the band here. I am led to believe they are members of the Downshire Brass band, and in my mind they are a disgrace

Disgrace is a tad harsh,

An embarrassment at times, and rather more annoying than usual yesterday.

Early on last night, they effectively managed to kill the atmosphere that was building.

Terrible timing for musicians.

It's very simple. At the pre-band Ravenhill when the team needed a lift, or at a key event set piece, the west stand or east terrace would take a lead with a chant or song and get the whole stadium going. Now, when that is needed and before anyone can get started, the effing brass takes straight in and stops what used to happen. They stop the stadium getting going, they kill the fan support as every one can only listen, not join in. They are a total annoyance and atmosphere killer, removing the fan support and they should wake up,realise this, get their heads around this and eff off, leaving vocal support to the vocal supporters.

I blame the second barrier crew, they're just not getting us going like they used to.

I loved the Band. Interesting fact: So his parents didn't cut up rough about him wasting his classical musical education, Richard Manuel used to charge the other guys $10 a week for music lessons.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
