Marmion probably eyes the Leinster shirt long-term and a battle with Luke McGrath. I think Cooney would be a considerable step up from p which is where our expectation should be. He could do a job and hopefully a youngster will come through in time.
Sorry folks but if the height of Ulsters ambition is to sign the 3rd choice Connacht 9 who was evidently not good enough for Leinster or they wouldn't have lent him to Connacht in the first instance and have him either starting with Marshall on the bench or vice versa then the CIC is talking through his hoop about being serious about world domination or anything other than being a mid table PRO12 side.
I still live in hope that Cooney is backup to someone else and Marshall is gone as if the IR FU are serious about having Paddy J as a 10 then he needs to be playing with a decent 9 otherwise he will either leave here or go backwards, Marshall left him looking a right prat last week.
Who then?
No idea Dave, but that is not my job, the management at Ulster of this situation has been dire to say the least irrespective of whether Ruan was staying or going
What do you expect them to do? Knit an IQ scrum half who is as good as Pienaar?
Could we at least knit one who is better than p?

It is, Baggy, it is! The new thinking is to keep all unnecessary traffic out of the city centre, I'm afraid the M3 bridge may have to suffice.

Why? He is a decent squad player, and the sort of person who we need to keep so that when the 6 nations are on and injuries hit we still have a team to field.

We cant get rid of everyone...

Precisely Eggs, he is not quite bad enough to gas, occasionally good but his type are an utter necessity giving many loons a job for life at Ulster and remuneration their talent hardly deserves.

I feel your pain Cockers but facts is facts, even in this day and age, and Robbie I am Dalek, a saffer safter that a watery shyte, has a place.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
