Ulster U19 beat Australia U19s 22-17, with a very young team comprising mostly of school players, was an absolute belter of a game and a major achievement , I believe they had thumped Munster at the weekend so well done Ulster
NOTE: 18 of the 23 were from clubs or schools outside the so called big schools , with Letterkenny , Rainey, Wallace, BGS,

15-9): Ethan McIlroy (Methodist College Belfast), Conor Rankin (Campbell College Belfast), Ben Carson (Wallace HS), Ben Moxham (Ballymena RFC), Ben McCaughey (Malone RFC), Greg Hutley (Down HS), Nathan Doak (Wallace HS);

(1-8): George Saunderson (Sullivan Upper School), Tom Stewart (Belfast Royal Academy), Oscar Egan Coleraine GS), Matthew Sands (City of Armagh RFC), Will Hopes (Regent House), Riley Westwood (Bangor GS), Charlie Clarke (Captain) (Rainey OB RFC), Reuban Crothers (Wallace HS). Replacements: Bryn Davies (Rainey ES), Adam Hanna (Banbridge Academy), Paddy McAlpine (Campbell College Belfast), Steven Kelly (Letterkenny RFC), Phil Campbell (Ballymena RFC), Conor McKee (Sullivan Upper School), Robbie Johnston (Queen’s University Belfast), Rex Tinsley (Campbell College Belfast)

Maybe that will shut up the complainers about not picking players outside of Belfast . Maybe the best performance by an Ulster team this week. Big crowd as well.

Does anyone know why John McKee ( who played for Campbell last year ) is the captain of the Ireland under 19s team but on the books of Leinster? :scratch:

Apparently he chose Leinster as he wanted to play hooker, Ulster wanted him as a loosehead prop. His choice from what I've read online - don't know the lad.

To be fair, hooker isn't where we're hurting, and it doesn't look like we will be there for some time.

Loosehead though, we've less than scraps.

Last time he played in Belfast was against Ulster A :roll:

Ulster pack muller er them.

Number of 1, number 2 and number 12 the stand out Ulster players for me. Australia had some good backs on show.
