Adding to the article on St Michaels, the top Dublin school teams all have collegiate management teams, not just figure head DoRs or Head Coaches.
This year Belvedere have an extended senior playing squad of 72 players supported by 15 coaching and backroom staff including Phil Werahiko and Andy Wood.
Thirty years ago St Michaels was seen as a feeder school for Blackrock. With fewer numbers they have to focus on the small improvements. With 11 rep players they are many peoples favourites this year in Leinster.

St. Michaels senior head coach is a teacher in the school, as is their Director of rugby.

I'll probably be there. Only saw the second half of the game earlier in the season. Couple of old Armachians in Banbridge, Robin Stinton and Josh Agnew.

Matty Agnew started last week for a team yet didn’t make the academy this year. Strange.

Last year's intake could have been a decent bit bigger. Hopefully some of them get in next season.

Why is it strange, is he not in sub academy, are intake numbers not restricted by Dublin ? Good that they can be fussy then?

Hopefully his performance will warrant another game this week if so then well done the Academy for rewarding him.

my view the money is restricted - not the number .

Nothing to stop a player coming through the Clubs without going through the Academy - just a late developer not spotted at school -- although I would expected them to be forwards rather than backs

numbers aren't restricted by dublin, it's a financial..

Agnew/Ward weren't offered full academy spots out of school, which isn't unusual.. they may earn a spot this season.

How much does an average academy player get in wages ? Coaching will cost same whether there are 10 or 20 so that does not come into it
