Schools Cup 2014

Post by Beattiespastie »

Another season is in full flow with all teams welcoming back their Ulster representative players. Who will be the first side to win in the new look Ravenhill stadium next March? Methody are setting the early pace with big away wins over Sullivan Upper and Ballymena . Wallace and RBAI have also started well so its going to be another close call. Methody have great strength in depth and Nicky Wells is doing his usual great job at getting the most out of the lads so it is going to take a very good side to stop MCB lifting the cup for the third successive year.( my usual unbiased view of course).

I have good reason to believe that this will be Portora's year.

Other than saying that every year, is there any particular reason for thinking that? :duck:

Given the number of pupils, should they not pull out and set up their own competition? >EW
Some say they rest players in the run up to games against Portora..........

Cap'n dear sir , Methody unlike ulster actually do have strength in depth, in my humble opinion they are favourites to win the schools cup

Good game at Pirrie Park yesterday between MCB and Sullivan which ended in a comfotable victory for MCB . In two games between the sides this year MCB have put nearly 70 points on Sullivan conceding only 14 which is impressive as Willie Andersons boys were lauded as potential cup winners this year. Wallace have been impressive this year to date so the game in two weeks will be intersting. Belfast Met put up a great fight and impressed everybody yesterday against MCB 2nd X1V and although they lost 29 v 7 they put up a great fight in a very entertainiñg game. MCB have great depth in the senior squad as I said before and I believe they will do three in a row. The lads work extremley hard 5 days a week with only Friday off so their hard work is paying off.
