why not? Only came to UK on a sabbatical and as I understand it always planned to return to SA (maybe helped by failure of 'franchise' to get off the ground at QPR).
Anyway he's still young enough and good enough to play S14 - just needed some conditioning to shed all the pies.

Got it in one Cables - gut wrenching! 2 wins, 2 single point losses but still top of the Australian teams.. Only one win between 1st and 9th on the table - so certainly still in the game with 9 matches remaining...

Yup - fabulous game, brought a tear to the eye when the final conversion went over! When I get some video of the last few minutes I'll post a link up.

Cables' Tables baffles

Under Points [For] Freddie

eg Force: 4 wins + 1 draw + 1 TB + 2 LB = 16 + 2 + 1 +2 = 21

Yes, the summation of all match points gained by opposition teams when playing against that team.

eg. Yeds: Lost 6, 4 TB's (against) = 6*4 + 4*1 = 28
Sharks: Lost 0, 2 LB's (against) = 0 +2*1 = 2

Good win (22-12) by the Force against the Sharks.

Yer man Steyn kicked a 50m drop goal but missed with one from 51m.
What do I hear? "Dodgy dodgy kicker!"
Will have been good to see for all neutrals/sharks.

Always good to relegate a team above you in the table to beneath you.

Lying 2nd at the minute and will not be beneath 4th at the end of this w/e.

5 games to go (3 away and 2 home).

Could well be in contention for a place in the semis.

The Hurricanes win over the Bulls aided the Force who, at the end of week 9, sit 3rd in the table.

Western Force were denied retention of second place however by a Waratahs’ conversion attempt hitting the posts, enabling Crusaders to win by a single point, in a 10 try game with both sides earning a try bonus and Waratahs also a losing bonus point. The game produced seven points.

Freddie  - Slight change in the table this week – ‘National’ colours (Black, green and yellow) have been added as background fill to the team names. A line has also been drawn under the 4th team to indicate which teams are currently in semi final places.

Semi spot is in sight for Western Force but Cobber will probably urge caution and a ‘one game at a time’ approach. To be sure, he may even be right! (Away games against Crusaders, Chiefs and Brumbies also home games against Cheetahs and Blues are still to come).

There is a massive points difference gap between the Force (+66) and all teams currently in positions 5 to 14.
