Bold facility

Post by cables »

It seems (on my monitor) that it is no longer worth bolding text when posting as the difference can barely be detected but is there.

Anyone?

Examples:
Normal: abcdefghijklm
Bolded: abcdefghijklm

Think it's down to your monitor resolution. your example looks fine to me but I do sometimes have trouble - for example people who use bold to highlihght their chosen team in the predictions league

Before investigating what has made me blind, can you guys detect the bolded characters without using the 'quote' facility.

The Witch had a Cat and a very tall hat.

I don't have any problem in Word or Excel on my monitor.

I have been and gone and went again and again but have found nothing wrong with my setup yet still cannot readily detect bolding on the forum pages.

As an experiment (to test out my own system) I logged on to the FAQ's associated with the Forum.

Each heading there is bolded and displays on my monitor as being so without any doubt. These are also displayed on similar colour backgrounds as forum posts.

Bolding is still virtually undetectable when I return to forum posts however.

Once again, thanks for your assistance but I observe a vast difference between FAQ and Forum Posts.

As you did mention some difficulty in interpretation of predictions PWRM, please look at the FAQ's (I kinda know you would anyway :flower: ).

I seem to be finding it hard to detemine which letters are bold in the line that you put up cables - though maybe my eyes just need testing

Somewhat glad to hear that it is just not here. I followed the advice of 'he who walks on the margins' (thanks BTW) but it has made no difference.

Yes still on XP with the latest SP.

..... and as I posted earlier, when I go to forum/faq.php
the subject headings are bolded and show as such without any doubt or need to look twice.

By comparison, I can barely tell that line 3 below is bolded.

aaaaaaaaaaaaa

aaaaaaaaaaaaa

As an additional test, I wrapped myself in my Ulster fleg and visited Munsterfans - the bolding there stood out fine.

Hope you had a good shower and scrubbed with carbolic soap after being down there

Did not quite feel at all at home but did observe a few travelling people from here down there. Perhaps it was somewhat BOLD of me to do it.

I resisted any temptation to register and contribute.
