Re: Injury Update

It will be a bit of a surprise if he'f fit for any of these matches. I agree that we should be working with our available players to prepare for next season.

Re: Dragons v Ulster Sat 13th March 7:35pm KO

solidarity wrote: Sat Mar 13, 2021 11:36 pm A good five point win. Should never have been as close but I have to say that their intercept try was better than ours.
Their player came from a clearly offside position. The issue was our stupidity in throwing intercept passes when the match was won with five points.

Re: drop goals

When did the new points system come in, i.e., the four points for a win and a four-try bonus point. Has that something to do with it? Agree that the DG is very under-used these days.

Re: Peel gone?

The highest priority at the current time will be cost. therefore it will either be to just carry on with the coaches we have or bring in another local - Suff or Doaky, I suspect.

Re: Concussive traumatic brain injuries

The first thing that needs to happen is for heavy contact in training to be strictly limited, That had a major beneficial effect when it happened in American football. Then further thought needs to be given to the tackle and ruck situations. There is no question but that this will cause the game to ...

Re: Ulster v Scarlets Sunday 7:35pm

For the record, we were missing McGrath, Herring, Henderson, Carter, Burns, McCloskey, Hume, Balacoune, Addison, Stockdale - ten players, all of whom would have been in the mix for selection to our starting 15. Plus Marshall after three minutes. Enough of this nonsense about other teams being badly ...

Re: Ulster v Scarlets Sunday 7:35pm

Firstly, I get totally drunk off whenever our opponents whinge and moan about how many players they are missing when we are often missing almost as many without mentioning that fact. Usually, if they say they are missing twenty players, 15 are from their academy and would never be selected for the f...

Edit - We won against Connacht - they had it wrong on the IRFU website last evening but have changed it. That's two days with three wins out of four.

After a pretty rocky start, he turned into a very good and sympathetic referee. we could do with more like him out there, I think.

Re: Return of Supporters

I have to say that the decision to not have any spectators was entirely correct under the current circumstances, in my opinion. Rather than being gutless, it showed common sense as well as a perception of how things are shaping up in "political" and financial terms.
