They need a bit of momentum to hit their stride and I was delighted they finally got the win after nearly 12 years. Now the monkey is off their backs but the IRFU has to make it ...

Re: Plastic Pitch
The planning application has an estimate of 3 to 4 months for the work to be completed. Assuming that the BCC planing committee meet in July it is going to be August at the earliest for them to start which means probably a November finish if no snags or hold ups. If as is likely the BCC Committee d...

Re: Any word on the Academy?
Four players from Ulster named in the Ireland U20s squad for the World U20s Championship. Not great but not a surprise given how few were involved in the Six Nations.

The IRFU would be better off using their money to put into the domestic and women's game.

Well done Munster. They did it the hard way and fair play to them!

Re: Contract Situation
I agree we want to use our Academy as much as possible, but props (especially tighthead props) take longer to develop and I'd be cautious about throwing Wilson in at the deep end. Absolutely get him some game time off the bench against the lower ranked teams, but if we were in an injury crisis, it'd...

Re: End of the road for Dan??
My view :- Last season - we lost 2 knockout ties we weren't expected to win at the outset. Won 4/4 in the heiny group stage, played some good rugby and saw Hume, Lowry, Marcus as 1st xv players with progress in others. Yes, it was gutting to lose both knockout games given the positions we got into ...
