Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Herring is a quality hooker and really kicking on this last 6 months, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to get him covering the backrow other than in an absolute emergency, ie a double injury in the backrow during a game. If Dom Ryan is the IQ back rower to join FairPlay. Personally he is well do...

Re: Franco - One More Year
Good news, glad he's staying on, decent player, and surprised other sides haven't looked at him. Glad kisses statement is alluding to rebuilding the forwards. Front and second rows reinforced, now for the backrow and specifically an 8 first and foremost !!

Re: Big Lewis off to Exeter
Classy by UR to let him go to Exeter now for his benefit. Also creates a space in the pecking order for a young gun to stake a claim. Touhy is back sometime in next month, and AOC is nailing a place down. Kiss is slowly but surely having a clear out, and seeing if a few young'uns have what it takes....

Re: Alan O'Connor
I would be surprised if his agent would advise leaving Ulster at this time. The guy is just taking his opportunity to establish himself, and show his quality in big games, it'd be a hell of a risk to leave. Leinster look well short in the row with McCarthy getting towards the end Denton getting binn...

Re: Rodney Ah You to join Ulster
First and foremost he needs to be an effective scrummager, and that isn't the reputation he's got. Certainly the added ball carrying etc is a brucie bonus. However he hasn't really kicked on at Connacht and is he even their starting TH?....currently the name tony Buckley springs to mind. Hopefully h...

Re: Match Report: US Oyonnax 23-24 Ulster Rugby
The difference in physicality in the pack in the first half was pronounced, we had no effective carriers whatsoever. NW might not be as good as he was a few yrs ago, but today showed up how badly we need a hard carrying 8 replacement when he goes. Even AOC in the 2nd row has a bit of dog about him, ...

Re: Andy Farrell is Ireland's new defence coach
JS won't put up with any BS, Farrell will be in no doubt as to his responsibility as defence coach....and nothing else at this point. Hopefully Farrell will rectify Ireland's main defensive vulnerability which was that teams could get outside of Ireland's narrow defensive alignment. Lancaster was a ...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
If wasps theoretically said to Ulster....here's £xxxx to release CP from his contract, and the IRFU were then Prep'd to let Ulster sign whoever they like in whatever position as a NIQ....would people Be happy with that?

Re: Totally guess work- your views
My only concern with Olding is the injuries. He has good hands, good kicker from hand, decent pace, great footwork, decent defence, and can sniff a finish. He could be a very exciting player for Ulster and Ireland, I genuinely hope it all works out. Robbie Henshaw is the real deal, absolutely no dou...

Re: Totally guess work- your views
Maybe you're right russ....and of course he gives the lady supporters someone to perv at. To be fair, he is solid and pretty reliable injury wise he's been a good player for Ireland. However he's damn limited coming forward, and has benefited from a lack of competition. It's crazy we don't have a re...

Re: Totally guess work- your views
The first part of my post was a quote from baggy trousers. My issue with the Ireland back line is simple. Henshaw is not a 12....no matter how well he played in the 6 nations and against FR in the WC.....he had only played a couple of games at 12 because IRFU made Connacht play him there because the...

Re: Totally guess work- your views
Here's a thing. Let's suppose that Payne, Olding and Cave are all available from next week, then woe is feckin' me Louis Ludik only goes and gets broken against the Turnips. Just keep in mind that we are also bereft of the services of Peter Nelson and for maybe a month of Gilroy too. Who plays fullb...

While I remember, how is young Conor Joyce coming on? Thought he was absolute quality in the U20 WC the other year, is he close to getting a few first team appearances?

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
What's the score with the forwards coach Clarke, I get the impression he isn't overly popular? Is it just his coaching or has he upset people at a local club level too?
