And some really good news is that the Llanelli No 8 - Alix Popham, currently their best player - has been suspended for two weeks after being sent off at Glasgow. That will hurt them badly.

Colin, as far as I know, Bestie was sick and had to go off early on - something conspicuously missed by Harrison and Barnes. I'm not sure about the other two yet. Incidentally, did you see Day-glo sticking his finger into Easterby's eye yesterday in the Wasps, Llanelli game?
Cheers,
Rocky.

As an alternative to ordinary pubs, you would all be made very welcome at Malone Rugby Club, which is a ten minute walk from Ravenhill. The bar will be open late, until 1am. You can get directions on the website at http://www.malone-rfc.com but basically you walk back along Onslow Parade to the main...

Yes, I got the same one. I've asked them what they did in terms of surveys of potential customers but I don't expect an answer. The decision was made on the basis of cost and finding something to do with that dump. All we can do is keep protesting. I suggest an email blitz on our local political lea...

Guys, Let's put this debate to bed. It's nearly as bad as the DH/ROG thing. The problem last year was that we lost a few very important players, leaving a young, relatively inexperienced squad. Then we had a couple of inexperienced coaches who, I can tell you, worked night and day to make improvemen...

No, BP, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the scrummaging. Far from it - the Borders front row was taken apart by Fitzy and the Bros. I suspect the Borders missed their two Samoans very badly but they were never going to win this game. Ulster simply get better and better at the moment. Long ma...

Thanks guys, that makes me feel better. I felt strongly tht our midfield simply didn't work last season so Trimble's good performance must be welcome. Here's hoping not to see Humphs kicking it to the wings just as much this year. Really looking forward to seeing Bestie at 6 and McMillen at 7, too. ...

Come on guys, can no-one be a bit more positive at the beginning of a season? Almost all I've seen, either here or on the Ulster forum, has been negative, critical, pessimistic and, frankly, I'm getting a bit cheesed off with it. I don't know if some or all of the players read the fora but, if so, t...

I agree, Paul. As a rugby doc, I am not in favour of body armour at all for the reasons already stated. I do agree with headgear, not because they prevent players from being KOd or concussed but because they prevent a lot of wounds to the head and face.
